Dan has been a motorcycle rider since 1968. During the almost 50 years since he started riding he has had many exciting adventures on two wheels and owned more than ten interesting bikes. He thinks the most memorable bike he has had was a 1973 Kawasaki Z-1 that he used to drag race. He road raced it as well. It was a sweet ride with a Rickman road racing chassis.
Today, he rides throughout Colorado and the west, including New Mexico, Idaho, Yellowstone/Wyoming and of course to Sturgis. He has ridden from Ohio to Chicago, Canada and to Florida for Daytona races. He is now riding a 1992 Kawasaki ZX-11 or a 2012 BMW K1600 GTL.
After taking several T3RG classes in the last few years that have greatly enhanced his skills, he decided to become a certified T3RG instructor. The best thing about teaching others to ride is watching them learn good riding practices and skills like risk assessment. He gets great pleasure from being a Rider Coach.
