Civilian Top Gun Rider Courses Give You Confidence
The Civilian Top Gun Rider course is a very demanding, slow-speed training designed to increase your confidence as a rider by teaching many of the skills used by professionals, like motorcycle police, who must rely on their skill to stay alive.
After completing the riding sessions you will have improved your balance and coordination on a motorcycle. By learning the precision exercises at slow speed, you will improve your riding skills at higher speeds. In addition, you will no longer be nervous about riding in tight spots. Your ability to ride on the street will vastly improve.
Your braking skills will be refined in the course. Every exercise you learn is critical for real life riding situations that include danger, from the pressure of highway traffic to the menace of drivers who ‘just don’t see motorcycles’ on the road. You will have a much better understanding of your limits as a rider, so that you may practice the skills you need to improve upon for years to come.
This course is ideal for riders who recognize the value of lifelong learning as a motorcycle enthusiast.
- If you can’t turn around in a small area and look good doing it…you may be ready for this course.
- If riding near other vehicles and motorcycles makes you nervous…you may be ready for this course.
- If maneuvering in tight spots means losing control…you may be ready for this course. Never be intimidated in a parking lot again. .
- If you are ready to get the best out of your motorcycling experience…you may be ready for this course…and it is the most fun you can have on a motorcycle, legally!
Civilian Top Gun Rider Training Clinic 1: Precision Curves and Turns
Take your riding to new heights of control and skill. Focus on the motorcycle controls and how to use them together for maximum efficiency and safety.
The exercises show the rider how to coordinate the use of motorcycle controls for maximum effect. Starting with clutch control exercises, riders learn to recognize and use the control point when feathering the clutch. Rear braking exercises are introduced and practiced. While the front brake is the most important one for stopping, the rear brake, if used properly, is critical for total control of the machine. Proper body positions that augment riding skills are introduced.
Learn to handle the motorcycle elegantly in slow speed turns, and heavy stop and go traffic.
Riders practice the skills needed for tight spots. Clinic two shows the rider how to maneuver the motorcycle in small places and look good doing it. The best motorcyclists can handle the motorcycle skillfully at slow speed, like slow turns, parking lot maneuvers, and heavy stop and go traffic. Riders start to put the rear brake and the front brake together for maximum control. The majority of motorcycle accidents occur in curves and improper braking. This clinic will show the rider how to handle curves and correct braking habits with confidence and ease.
Civilian Top Gun Rider Training Exercises: Higher Speed Braking and Evasion
Higher speed braking, swerving and evasive maneuvering exercises
Day 2 introduces higher speed drills, still focusing on precision and control. Riders learn how to maximize the use of all controls on the motorcycle. The throttle, clutch, front brake, rear brake and body placement are all incorporated into the riding exercises. The exercises will include higher speed braking exercises, high speed swerves and evasive maneuvers that the Police riders use every day.
Timed runs of simulated traffic problems. Emergency stop, swerve, and quick turns in small spaces.
Riders combine all the riding skills from earlier exercises and maneuvers and ride through simulated traffic problems. The clinic includes timed runs. Included in this final session are emergency stops, swerving to avoid obstacles, quick turns in small spaces.

Why take a Civilian Top Gun Rider Training Course with Asure Top Gun School?
This is what one recent student had to say about the Civilian Top Gun Rider Training:
The instructor was cognizant of my physical limitations and adjusted accordingly. He was very knowledgeable and readily shared his knowledge and experience.
I have never been to a course where we spent so much time on the motorcycles. On day one we accumulated approximately 20 miles, and on day two we rode another 16 miles for training. This is quite a bit of seat time for a class and it proved very worthwhile. It was an exhausting weekend but I learned more from this course than any other I have taken to date. Macklin R.
