All motorcycles will be checked for standing turning radius. A determination will be made by the judge as to which course (adjusted) you will compete on.
Crusier/Bagger
All bikes will be checked for standing full-lock turning radius and placed according the the jugde.
Examples include:
Harley-DavidsonFLH and ROAD KING
(Does not include Dna-Glide). No modifications to the stock motorcycle are allowed that would affect turning radius. Windscreens and saddle bags must remain in place.
BMW
RT 1200's and RT 1150's
BMW motorcycles--No modifications to the stock motorcycle are allowed that would affect turning radius.. Windscreens and saddle bags must remain in place. Does not include GS series or 800cc bikes.
Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Victory, Star
Metric touring motorcycles--No modifications to the stock motorcycle are allowed that would affect turning radius. Windscreens and saddle bags must remain in place.
Any other motorcycle that does not fit into the above categories (All dual-sports, special models, etc.) can be ridden in their own class during the competition portion of the event as long as there is at least three of the same style motorcycle. It will be at the discretion of the event Judge to place a motorcycle into a given category, if it does not conform to the basic standards of a given class.
The event is open to all persons licensed and endorsed or licensed for motorcycles.
Riders must wear jackets, boots, helmets and eye protection are required at all times during the event and while practicing.
Motorcycles must be operating properly with no excessive or obvious oil leaks or mechanical problems; all motorcycles are subject to a mechanical inspection at the discretion of the event Judge.
All riders are responsible for the behavior of family and friends present at the event.
Any and all protests, arguments, conflicts, etc. will be handled through the event Judge.
All decisions are final, once the event Judge has made a ruling.
Modifications for the specific purpose of the event are not allowed.
Repair time is allowed (5 min's.) or motorcycle replacement if necessary prior to starting the event. If a break-down occurs while completing the pattern the event judge will determine if it was caused by the riders skill or motorcycle malfunction possibly allowing the rider to re-ride the pattern. (clutch failure is not an excuse for a re-ride).
Each rider will be given a number and it must be displayed in a visible location on the front of the motorcycle. Entries must be received by 10:00am, May 16th 2010Riders wishing to compete in more than one class can do so. There will be a $50 entry fee for each event. (Sign up for additional classes at registration)
Crusier/Bagger
Points Event
- Riders will complete an obstacle challenge. Individual riders will attempt to maneuver through various cone patterns.
- Point penalties will be assessed as follows
- Moving a cone from its location w/o knocking the cone down = 1 points
- Knocking a cone down = 2 points
- Putting a foot down = 3 points
- Riding out of a pattern and not re-entering from the start of the pattern to complete the pattern = D/Q.
- Falling Over Dropping the Motorcycle = Fatal accident D/Q
- Not completing a pattern = D/Q.
Timed with Penalty Event
- This is a timed, single rider course, the fastest time through the set of patterns including penalties wins.(Penalties include those assessed in the points event.)
- Time penalties will be assessed and added as follows:
- Moving a cone from its location w/o knocking the cone down = 1 sec
- Knocking a cone down = 2 sec.
- Putting a foot down = 3 sec.
- Riding out of a pattern and not re-entering from the start of the pattern to complete the pattern = D/Q.
- Falling Over Dropping the Motorcycle = Fatal accident D/Q
- Not completing a pattern = D/Q..
- 1st thru 3rd place prizes will be given.
Sportbike Event (Must be sportbike)
Timed with Penalty Event
- This is a timed, single rider course, the fastest time through the set of patterns wins.
- Time penalties will be assessed and added as follows:
- Moving a cone from its location w/o knocking the cone down = 1 sec
- Knocking a cone down = 2 sec.
- Putting a foot down = 3 sec.
- Riding out of the course and not re-entering from the point of exit to complete the course = D/Q.
- Falling Over Dropping the Motorcycle = Fatal accident D/Q
- Not completing a pattern = D/Q.
- Locking the rear wheel in a turn = D/Q
- Other penalties will be assessed on a case by case basis if necessary.
- For 2009 there will be two runs per individual, the slowest run including points will be thrown out and the fastest runs including the least points will be recorded for an overall time.
Scooter Gymkana
Timed with penalty Event
This is a timed, single rider course, the fastest time through the set of patterns wins.
Time penalties will be assessed and added as follows:
Moving a cone from its location w/o knocking the cone down = 1 sec
Knocking a cone down = 2 sec.
Putting a foot down = 3 sec.
Riding out of the course and not re-entering from the point of exit to complete the course = D/Q.
Falling Over Dropping the Scooter = Fatal accident D/Q
Not completing a pattern = D/Q.
For 2009 there will be two runs per individual, the slowest run including points will be thrown out and the fastest runs will be recorded for an overall time.
Scooter Slow Race (Manual transmission will be run in a different race than automatic transmission)
Timed Event
- This is a timed, single rider course, the slowest time through the lanes wins.
- Time penalties will be assessed and added as follows:
- Falling Over Dropping the Scooter = Fatal accident D/Q
- Not completing a pattern = D/Q.
- For 2009 there will be two runs per individual, the fastest run will be thrown out and slowest times will be recorded by the judge for the contest
Last Man Standing (Individual)
For 2009, this crowd favorite will be added. Any attendees not competing in the Top Gun competitions will be eligible to compete for a ten dollar donation. There will be a practice area set up for this event.
- This will be a bracketed event for the individual in which 2 riders will enter the pattern moving in a safe and slow manner, the object is to keep from putting your foot down, hitting any cones, not touching another motorcycle or motorcyclist, or falling over.
- A rider will be DQ' d for hitting another motorcycle.
- During the first round the top two motorcycles will transfer to the subsequent rounds, ultimately ending with 5 finalists. These 5 will compete for the top 5 positions for bragging rights.
- Exact bracketing will be determined based on the number of entry's.
- Like motorcycles will compete against like motorcycles. (Harley v. Harley and BMW's v. BMW's, Honda v. Honda, etc.)
